Networking - Cold calling individuals

I've been cold calling individuals for the past few weeks expressing my interest in switching from working as a credit analyst to working as an equity research associate. One individual has been extremely responsive and followed up our previous conversation with a laundry list of suggestions to aid in my job search (best firms in the Philly area to target, headhunters, contact info, etc...). He also said that he could put me in touch with an individual from PNC who works in lending to small businesses. He said that although she doesn't work in equity research, she might be able to tell me more about PNC and pass me along to someone within firm who does.

My question is this: is it acceptable to talk to this woman for the sole purpose of using her network to get in touch with Equity Research Analysts at PNC?
