Networking help

Hi people,

I would like to get your advice about the networking.

My story. In the country where I from (Think of the mix of Eastern Europe and Middle East), networking is very rare case during the college. There is either no networking or pure family relationships. But people in our country in general tend to help junior ones. It gives some sort of advantage to me among my peers. The place I want to get in has 20 people. 4-5 people (+1 ex person) I know due to Linkedin, and Facebook. I networked horrible (used Linkedin + wrote long long messages + acted like a child (I even shared my college results with that person while chatting)). But even after all, people assisted me, one even gave me his phone number and other one promised to have a talk when I will be junior/senior student (I am freshman now). Considering these facts, I think I am in quite well situation. So, I need a guidance. What further steps should I take to gain maximum from this networking?

Thank You.

I used Linkedin and wrote a long long and long messages. Imagine asking, 10 questions straight from the Linkedin. And I constantly did this for 3 days.

Good that you recognised your mistakes. I guess you should avoid being impolitely insistent and try to show them your motivation and why you would be of help to them.
