No it’s no over (it is)

It’s not “over” if you have a 3.5 and go to a semi-target. All of the college kids on this app are hella dramatic.

That being said, if you’re like me and have a 3.0 from a non target with no experience - then yes it’s absolutely over.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it's not necessarily "over" even if you're from a non-target with a low GPA or limited experience. Success stories on WSO highlight that persistence, networking, and strategic preparation can make a significant difference. For example:

  1. Networking: Many users emphasize the importance of reaching out to alumni, cold emailing, and building connections. One user shared that they sent over 300 cold emails and eventually landed a role despite a low GPA and non-target background.

  2. Skill Development: Taking online courses, preparing for interviews, and showcasing leadership or unique projects can help you stand out. Highlighting relevant experiences, even if they're outside traditional finance roles, can also be valuable.

  3. Persistence: The journey might be tougher for non-targets, but with consistent effort, it's possible to break into competitive fields. Several users have shared stories of overcoming similar challenges.

While having a 3.5 from a semi-target provides a stronger starting point, it's not the sole determinant of success. For those with a 3.0 from a non-target, the path is harder but not impossible with the right strategy and effort.
