Non-target recruiting

Has anyone who goes to a non-target gotten any first rounds or super days yet? I received an RBC offer,  but want to also see where else I get a first-round, but don't know if I should take the gamble of declining the offer in hopes of getting something else. I am unsure if I just am not being considering in general or if target school recruiting is the focus right now and then non-target is next?

Don't get your hopes up. Half of these banks don't actually get any non-target non-diverse kids unless you know an MD etc. Coming from someone at a semi-target with a good resume and multiple referrals in the system for multiple banks, my contacts have pretty much told me there's no spots left for multiple firms by the time diversity has wrapped up and targets pushed their kids through. Obviously not all firms, and I'm still getting some first rounds and beyond, but it's the case for multiple places that they fill 50% or more from diversity and then target kids get pushed through. Just because a harvard guy likes me and pushes my resume forward doesn't mean he and a couple others can actually get me an interview when HR is busy sucking off diversity and then just recruits at x amount of targets to make their lives easier.

The further up north you are the harder it will be to get in non target. People up north bust a load for someone who went to an Ivy, id take the offer and switch companies later if you want.

Take RBC. I come from a semi-target and my mindset has always been that you can’t afford to be picky. I’m all for betting on yourself, but Breaking into IB is hard enough man. I’d play it safe

For reference I am not being picky without merit. I have talked to a ton of people at CS, and have great leads at two other BBs. I am just unsure of how much weight that will carry for me and can't decide if they are strong enough to bet on myself.

take RBC dont post shit about it on linkedin or anywhere as a matter of fact. dont tell your friends dont tell your non target internship office. keep recruiting and quietly reject RBC if you land a better offer.

but take the offer though. youd be stupid not to at the very least take the offer.
