NYC SA Recruiting 2012-2013

Question

Couldn't find a thread like this (besides the HK/Sing one), but thought it would be good for people to know what stage in the process most of the banks are in.  Post updates as you hear back from various BBs and the main boutiques/MM firms in terms of 1st round interviews, superdays, etc.  This is for non OCR and also non-accelerated processes, so just the general application process timing.

MinneBankerI got a top MM offer (think HW/WB/HLHZ) but nothing other than that. I have a few superdays coming up and first rounds for OCR as well

Congrats! Smooth sailing from here, and all 3 of those are excellent places with many advantages over BBs.

Only advice I would offer is to leverage the hell out of your current offer- obviously you aren't going to be winning over GS/MS with a MM offer, but lower tier BBs/solid boutiques it will definitely mean something- let them know but then let them know that they are your top choice for x,y,z reasons.

If anyone could answer this I would appreciate it.  On Friday I was called by the recruiter at a GS to set up an interview in their regional office- I had applied online and listed this region as one of my preferences.  I have no contacts at this office and did not expect to receive an interview.  I had the interview earlier today over the phone.

A few hours later I received the GS rejection emails- 1 from NYC securities (which I selected to fill my 3rd spot) and 1 from the regional office IBD which I had also selected.  Both emails said I had not been chosen for an interview.

BryanTheLion135WeGoHam, are you going for the interview next Tuesday?  If so, I am there, too and am also being flown out.  I believe the setup is an initial 30-minute interview in the morning, and they will do callbacks for more interviews if you pass that one.  Can anybody else shed some light on non-core GS superdays?

This is mostly correct.  I will be at the interviews Tuesday as well.  The morning time slot is a 2 on 1 interview.  You then go in the lobby/do whatever you want and are called back in the afternoon.

WeGoHam1streetericWeGoHam1I have a question about GS Superdays. I was invited to fly out of state to a GS interview. How do I figure out if this is a superday or not? On the email, it did not say it was a superday and on my application status it doesnt mention superday anywhere. It only says "interview"...? Help?

If they're flying you out, it seems like a superday.. Did they mention anything about how long the interview(s) would take? If it's lengthy, that's an indicator.

They are flying me out but my interview is listed as only 1 hour....so this might not be a super day?
