On-Cycle Recruiting Advice & Recommendations

Hi everyone. I am an incoming full-time analyst at a BB (Citi, UBS, BofA) in a coverage group. I go to a target UG business school with a 3.7 GPA. I am a bit concerned about the on-cycle process, given my position at a mid-BB and not-stellar group. I am actively trying to switch groups/lateral during FT to improve my situation, as I'm pretty set on doing PE at MF/UMM. I have interviewed well with PE firms in the past for positions (got 2 superdays) and got an offer at a major secondaries firm, so I know I am a strong candidate but am worried about the impacts of my group/bank/GPA.

Last year, I had one headhunter reach out for an introductory chat on campus which went well. This was purely an introductory chat and haven't heard since. They also chatted many other people at JPM/Qatalyst/GS, so the competition pool is pretty heavy.

Just asking for general advice and how to proceed. Should I be proactive in reaching out directly to HHs or associates? Should I supplement resume with GMAT? Advice on lateraling/switching groups? Would appreciate any advice really, as I am kind of lost.
