Out of work for 3 months after being laid off -- how to address on resume?
Context here is I was laid off from my corporate job along with my boss, his boss and the head of our business unit. The company decided to focus on a different line of business. In the meantime, I relocated overseas to join my wife, so there was some moving and getting resettled that accounts for this time off.
Thoughts on:
1) how to address on the resume?
2) given that this had nothing to do with my job performance or fit, does it make sense to frontload this in an interview, rather than waiting for the interviewer to construct their own theory about why I might have been out of work for a while?
Hey Ignorhombus, what a lonely thread. I'm here since nobody responded ...so maybe one of these discussions will help:
You're welcome.
Don't worry about it, this is happening to everybody.
When you put an end date on the resume for your last job, the interviewer will address it and you will be able to explain the situation. It will probably be one of the first things you talk about, don't sweat it.
