Outsider Need Advice - Is this for me?

Hello folks, I moved to NYC to join my wife right before Covid, and now I am thinking about a new job. Wife and a couple of friends suggested trying the financial industry given where I am. I have never thought about this industry but not against something like a junior position just to learn. I want to get some thoughts to understand whether this is viable. And if yes, where do I fit and how do I start? Appreciate any thoughts, comments, and suggestions
