Also, when you say phone screen, do you mean with HR/recruiter, or someone on the team?
I was prepared just not expecting it. Every phone screen I have had in the past (at least 40 since internships! Have been tell me about your background and behavioral for questions.
I’m confused how you’ve had over 40 phone screens and have still yet to prepare for technicals?
Even worse - I got a coffee chat with this one lady a few summers ago when I was trying to break in. I got there early, as was proper. I saw her walk into the place with a piece of paper in her hand. I thought to myself "There's no way that's my resume..." It was.
The next 30 mins were a full blown interview.

Coffee chats are informational interviews. And in this case, the information they're trying to extract is your technical ability.
