Possible Internship @ ANY bank in NYC?
I am a Senior in high school... I was wondering if anyone can hook me up with an internship at a major bank in NYC i.e. Deustch Bank, Citigroup, Bank of A, Goldman Sachs ;)
I am going to a prestigious college (still weighing my options) and studying Economics/Business (General). I have a decent to great resume if anyone wants to view... Paid or not paid... I am really in it for the experience/connections.
If anyone can hook me up, give me advice, correct my resume, etc. I would be beyond grateful! Thank you!
How about Blackstone M&A? PM me, and I'll send you over the offer details. Consider yourself accepted.
I'll make a counter offer to this. VP at GS CP. We here at GS like your style kid. Book your flight or bus ticket to our offices in NYC now, and we look forward to working under you, sir.
Guys come on, let's stop teasing him...he's only trying to learn and get ahead of his competition. PM me and we can talk about setting something up at DBL or DLJ.
Don't listen to him. We promise you an easy transition to BX PE if you accept our offer, Mr. Patel! Let us know if you need anything else. Hope you liked the offer letter!
I don't know if you know this, op, but this guy and the guy above me are, what we call, internet trolls. They are giving you false-hopes for an extraordinary job. It is absolutely impossible for someone in your position to receive one of these offers. Don't listen to them. Please stay safe.
Thanks for the update.
Post a link to your resume? Advice/critique is one thing, but people here aren't just going to hook you up.
Haha I think I actually know who you are
European banks have genuine internships for HS grads in Germany/Switzerland.
I can offer you an internship. It involves being chased and tackled by my dog, keeping the toilet seat warm on cold days, getting me ice craem. video taping my 3somes.
These are all very important skills to have.
My father is an MD at Morgan Stanley and I told him all about your situation. He's out of town right now, but when he gets back, he will try to get you an interview. Just PM me and I will give you details about the compensation and hours.
Listen Parth,
These guys above are trolling you, the best thing you can do is start cold-calling. Look through LinkedIn to find the names of people working at GS, BX, MS, etc, make sure they are in NYC. Then, look at their websites and get the main phone number for the NYC office, and when the woman answers the phone, ask for them by name. Once you get them on the horn, explain your situation and tell them about how finance is a passion of yours blah blah blah and ask if you can intern with them this summer.
As far as who to call, the higher the better. You need to be talking to at least VP level folks because they're the only ones with enough pull to actually make it happen.
It won't be easy, but if you've got balls you can make it work.
This is pretty good advice...It landed me an internship when I was in high school.
LOL...
If only more people asked for jobs on online forums unemployment rates would be much, MUCH lower.
You lead by example, Mr. Patel. A respectable trait indeed. Speaking of which, our offer at GS still stands and we would hate to see you join the competition. Name your price.
Ok, no more messing around.
Parth, any advice I can give you apart from networking is interning during the school year to build your resume. When you're networking as a freshman and have a resume full of work experience, you're taken much more seriously regardless of GPA. I worked about 20 hours a week last semester in an unrelated role in finance, and still found it to be really helpful in getting noticed by alums at boutique and MM IB's.
PS: Try to avoid reinforcing stereotypes. You're not helping yourself here.
Good luck.
I was actually going to offer you a FT position with Deutsche Bank, but you misspelled it...
Learn to spell Deutsche
if op is a girl, i definitely hook her up...
