Take what I say with a grain of salt, but you need to read your contracts/offer letters. If your FT offer says that you cannot work for another firm after signing then there are obviously problems. If it doesn't then there shouldn't be an issue.

In the internship contract, there's no mentioning of this or related issue. That's where I need more light but I am a bit hesitant to ask the HR. Hence, I wanted to check with other people as well.
Read the contract. If it includes a non-compete, that might be a problem. Another possible problem is the NDA. It's probably best to ask a lawyer you know to read over the contracts and give you his advice.
