Private Equity Interview Question: what are the top 3 questions you would ask the CEO of a potential target?

Anyone get a tricky private equity interview question like this before? what are your thoughts with regards to which areas should be addressed?

Another way to put this is "What wakes you up in the morning?".. This was said to me by a C level prospect (I'm in software sales, prepping for mba applications) after I asked him the "What keeps you up at night" question. I think he was tired of hearing the same question over and over, so he taught me a different option on the fly... Reality is, the CEOs has probably answered that question at least 10 times for different sales people, so in my opinion it's kinda lame today to ask these questions...

edit: could be a different situation for financial conversations, after they go through the material.. regardless though, it's a question these executives hear all the time.. need to get little creative or word it differently.. personalize it per se..
