PwC WFP Advisory vs. Wells Fargo Abbot Downing
I was wondering if anyone could comment on the following positions:
PwC - WFP Advisory
Wells Fargo Abbot Downing - Investment Analyst
I am a senior and I am in between these two positions. My goal is M7 MBA school so I guess I am asking which position will better set me up for that? I have great leadership experience and a 4.0 GPA. So really it comes down to which position will enhance my MBA chances.
I was thinking PwC, but then again Abbot Downing is the elite arm of Wells Fargo so I am really stuck here.
These are my only two options as my school has poor recruiting. Any comment is appreciated.
I would like to know opinions on WFP

I work at Wells Fargo, but I'm not familiar with Abbot Downing. I know its relatively new to WF, though. What will your responsibilities be at Abbot?
Also, what are you interested in? Finance? Government contracting? Something else?
Keep in mind you will have to work for 3-4 years before moving to an M7 school. Depending on your role at Abbot, you may have access to a truly amazing network of affluent clients. You may be able to jump ship and do something else, if wealth management or government contracting arent for you.
I am interested in finance and consulting. I realize I would have to work for 3-5 years before applying but I was just wondering if anyone could comment on how business schools look at either firm or practice and if they prefer one over the other.
And yes Abbot Downing is fairly new but you have to have $50 Million to invest with them. It is their "Ultra-High" net worth clientele .
Im biased, but I would take the investments role. What sort of work would you be doing as an investment analyst? Im not familir with how UHNW wealth management is set up, nor do I understand the depth of the analysis you would do.
To answer your original question, in the end: WF > PwC for Bschool, this is indisputable provided you are in a somewhat respectable role. But you are dealing with affiliates/subsidiaries of the aforementioned companies. I assume the same relationship holds.
Thank you for the insight. Can anyone else comment?
