Quitting my job for new role

Hope everyones doing well. Was wanting to bounce ideas off of everyone who cares to read.

Starting my new role in the new year, and my current firm provides time off starting the 23rd (Monday). Thinking of dropping my two weeks' notice on the 20th (Friday), which would result in me staying on their payroll for one more period, receive the payment on the 3rd and start my new role on the 6th.

I know this is bit cheeky so wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this?
