Recent Graduate looking for advice

I graduated from the state school with a 3.5 in Finance and Economics and landed an internship with a top 10 bank for a temporary period of 3 months in Equity Research. I now realize that Asset Management is where I want to be but I can seem to find a job that will hire me full-time. My only other option is a internal audit position with a private construction company. If I take the audit position will it give me relevant experience to try and apply again in a year or two or should I keep trying to get a foot in the door to a financial services firm? please help advice would be greatly appreciated!!

You might want to edit your post a bit. Too much info given employers can probably narrow you down to exactly who you are on this site.

With that said, If you had an internship with Deutsche, audit position would be a step down. Future employers might look at that and wonder why isn't anyone hiring this kid. I wouldn't recommend it, instead try going for a boutique bank in the meantime or even unpaid internship in banking somewhere.

Thanks for the heads up !!

Thats what I figured but people were telling me that auditing would give me alot of accounting experience which would be relevant to the financial industry and I could try again when I am more qualified, i.e pass first CFA exam

Do you have any idea if I would be competitive with my credentials, with the way the industry is today applying to jobs online just doesn't seem to cut it anymore!!
