Recruiter ghosting me
Mid way through a pe process and external recruiter has ghosted me despite being incredibly responsive beforehand. Have chased and still nothing…obviously means I probably haven’t progressed but has anyone experienced something similar?
Yeah, they only care until you are in the process. Then they don’t even have the balls to tell you you didn’t get it.
All low IQ commission chasers.
Unfortunately, the majority of recruiters act this way in any industry. If you were a top candidate, they might give you a call for feedback (props to recruiter who preface these calls with messages saying you didn't get it but they are open to offering you feedback, always hated the ones where they call without giving you a headsup and realizing within a few moments that it's a rejection / not an offer call).
Unfortunately, that's how most recruiters are. I've only come across a handful of them that provide feedback no matter what. I couldn't care less if I got no feedback after the 1st round because it's likely a fit reason (at least at my level).. call me entitled but if I do multiple rounds of interviews, come into the office multiple times, and do a week-long case study then I at least deserve some feedback after the final round. Only a few of them have given me very good feedback (pinpointed the reason I didn't get the offer) that's helped me in other interviews I've done.
Sometimes, the recruiters themselves don't hear back from the interviewers promptly, which is why there is a lag in responding, but good recruiters have kept me in the loop and given me regular updates on the process.
