They don't. We don't really have the same restructuring scene as the US. Over here, restructuring is almost fully done by the Big Four accounting firms, who serve as bankruptcy trustees. Our system is just built differently. For some mega-bankruptcies, or cross border restructurings, some boutiques like Greenhill TO will get to work on them,  but there is definitely no dedicated restructuring related role here.

If you want a more pure RX experience, you could try the RX consulting firms, like Alvarez and Marsal or AlixPartners. I believe they focus more on the operational/strategic side of restructuring rather than pure financial restructuring, which IMHO is very interesting.

Otherwise, there really isn't much you could do related to RX here. Buyside opportunities are almost non-existent (heck, its even difficult to find a HY debt related role here, let alone distressed debt investing). Maybe bankruptcy law?

Not really many insights. The largest CCAA bankruptcies here are almost exclusively worked on by the Big Four or Alvarez/Alix. I doubt KSV is gonna be paying you much lol. If I had to guess, out of uni it would probably be like above 50k but below 90k. That's borderline poverty comp in Toronto LOL.

If you're really interested in Rx, you gotta gun for US based shops (i.e. HL, PJT, EVR), or spend two years in banking here, do your MBA at a top school in the US, and pray you get into those same boutiques.
