Should I assume a ding/waitlist?
Interviewed with smaller regional shop in the south. Final rounds were conducted starting 1.5 weeks ago. Mine was scheduled Wednesday (so on the later end), and I have not heard back, they told me I’d hear back soon. I saw someone just recently post their offer. Should I assume a ding?
In all likelihood, yes, particularly with the other person announcing an offer. I would continue applying to opportunities until I secured something. Be encouraged. You did very well to advance as far in the process as you did. You just need to get the numbers on your side by continuing to have meaningful conversations with people.
Because of how much time I spent on preparing for these rounds I didn’t have time to keep networking at other banks. I feel like I’m done for :/
You've got it all backwards. If you're demographically like most people on this site, you have so many decades to get things right. You're on a good track to getting a high-paying job that most people could only dream of having. Stay motivated, and continue to learn about new firms and get into contact with people. There's an opportunity out there with your name on it. You have only to seize it. You may have invested significant time pursuing this one opportunity, but try your best to parlay that preparation into something else.
Update, I got it :)!
That's just marvelous. My response was a bit of a "underpromise and overdeliver." Wishing you all the best in your new role.
Hey in a similar situation. Wanted to ask if you followed up with anyone in the firm or took any extra steps after.
