Should I Lateral?

Hey all,

Getting close to wrapping up my first year at a NYC-based shop (lower tier bank).

I really like the team I work with and the compensation is street, however I am lacking in terms of experience. Not much deal flow and a lot of pitching and financing work.

The pros are that I don’t really work very much (usually done by 9PM) and don’t work many weekends. Team is very nice and environment is low stress. Friends have been telling me I should start looking for other places as my exit opps will likely be not so great here.

Feel like I need to leave for my own professional well being / better prestige on my resume but can’t wrap my head around that I may be leaving something good here.

Is anyone in a similar situation? Constantly asking myself how bad it can really get at other places, and what I may be giving up long term by staying here

I mean if you’re getting paid well, low stress, good WLB and like the culture/team why are you worried about exit ops?

You sound like you’re in a really good place so why not just stay and progress? Just my thoughts.
