Should I quit now? Is lateral even possible?

I've worked at the current firm for 2 years. Not a front office role, but I'm eager to join other MO teams or DCM (know it's hard to switch but still interested). My current role isn't ideal in terms of pay and exit options, but the team culture is great, and I know it's lucky to have a job in this market...

Aware that firms have been on hiring freeze for months... I've seen people from my firm changed teams during normal markets or lateralled quite easily. Not sure if I should try now?

Has anyone heard of juniors quitting in recent weeks? Curious where they are lateralling to?

Appreciate any advice!
