Should you apply without being ready?
The answer to this question might sound obvious but hear me out. There are currently very few openings for asset management in the specific country that I want to apply. This has led me to consider other sectors that I was not considering before. Right now there are great opportunities in ECM, and I find the industry very interesting. The problem is that I don't have experience at a bank under the belt, nor have I interviewed with one before. I did not know much about it before but now I really see myself working in ECM, so I am willing to learn and prepare for interviews. Should I apply now even though I am not completely ready for the interviews just for the sake of practising (and because there are so few opportunities)? Or does this ruin my chances of working at this bank at a later stage again?
