Spring Internship on CV (thoughts?)
Curious what are your guys thoughts on how/whether to put spring weeks (uk-based first year programs) on your CV.
Cognisant that they are only usually a week long but do you think the brand name of some of these firms eg BofA, Goldman, Blackstone etc are cool to play out to bolster one’s CV, particularly for summers? If so, how should one go about this?
Thx
I put mine on and then recruited for summers and got an offer at a HF. Think its fine to put them on; not much else you'll have at that stage.
Did u do anything in first year summer?
nah, but I got my offer before my first year summer started since the HF recruited relatively early (Point72/Citadel/DE Shaw)
yes include
100% include.
Included SW myself when applying to SA and FT - very handy when explaining motivations! Perhaps include 1-2 bullets, pretty sure the recruitment teams are v familiar with SW at this point
Yep agree v useful for your story + CL
Spring weeks have been going on for 8+ years now haha, they’re definitely familiar
It makes a recruiter’s job much easier by signposting that you were successful in the application process at their competitors. An EY recruiter seeing that a candidate did an internship at PwC prior will show their aptitude for the job/more likely to be a successful applicant.
