SSE vs BI vs NHH

Good afternoon,

I'm getting my bachelor degree this year, and was admitted to some Master programmes: SSE (business and management), BI Norwegian Business School (Master of Science in Finance), NHH Norwegian School of Economics (Master of Economics and Business Administration with a possibility to get a concentration in Finance). Right now I'm not sure what to choose to pursue career in Investment Banking (I had two summer internships in Investment Banking and Management Consulting before). My plan is to break into investment banking in London.

SSE is obviously a well-known brand, but the program is not in Finance, so I'm not sure if employers will like this fact. NHH and BI are both well-known in Norway and the Nordics, but are not that heard of internationally. At the same time, NHH has a lot of great exchange semester opportunities (you can go to LSE, HEC, Bocconi, New York Stern, UChicago, etc.), which will allow me to be closer to assessment centers, recruiters, and networking.

Would really appreciate any help with the choice.

Hi,

I did a semester abroad in Scandinavia and from what I gathered the best Nordic schools known around Europe are SSE and CBS (by reputation). Although SSE isn't finance I'm sure you can choose finance modules and steer the master a bit in that direction. If you're dead set on IB then I would choose SSE. I'm not sure how much value a semester abroad can add to FT recruiting (double check with fellow students or alumni in London). If it turns out to be useful then also consider NHH. Does SSE not offer a semester abroad?

I was thinking that a semester abroad during Master's might be a good idea, because even having LSE or HEC on your CV, I guess, improves your chances. Plus you get access to recruiting opportunities that regular students from there have. SSE has a semester abroad as well.
