Starwood Acquisitions Summer Internship Questions

Anyone have any experience doing Starwood's jobview interview? What kind of questions did they ask (probably behavioral but wondering more specifically) I'm assuming we're not supposed to have equal technical knowledge as first time analysts so i'm wondering what kind of technicals we can expect to see as well? thanks

I did the process for FT, so a little different. But most questions were why real estate, behaviorals (what’s not on your resume, etc...), and then one question on what factors you look at when underwriting a RE deal (very broad - so you need to be specific and concise in your answer).

Know bond math, I believe i there are some examples questions on Glassdoor that I was actually asked.

Understand conceptually how cap rates are related to discount rates and how risk plays into determining a discount rate.

Have some general opinions on the market, if I gave you $100m right now where would you invest it sort of deal (hint for this Starwood and Blackstone both are currently shifting focus to public equities because very little asset level stuff is transacting, impossible to price, go read the WSJ article about the investment in Extended Stay America)

Try and learn some stuff about hotels, not sure if you're interviewing for hotel team or not, but Starwood loves hotels and hotel platforms during a down market.
