Structured Products at Guggenheim
I have an interview coming up for the summer 2022 analyst position. I was wondering what type of technicals are typically asked whether at Guggenheim or other banks in their SP divisions.

This is going to sound dumb and obvious, but you have to really know what is going on in these products. Most people think they know what MBS is, but do you know the difference between MBS, a CLO, and a CDO? That is the kind of stuff that could be useful. Does the team also do ABL? What types of products does Guggenheim do? Are they mostly vanilla MBS? Agency or non-Agency? Do they do credit cards and airplane leases? Structured products is a totally different animal than the standard IB knowledge. I had a structured products superday at BofA and they didn't ask me a single technical. This was back when Baron Silverstein still worked there.
Thanks a ton!
Widely considered the top structured products team on the street. Esoteric stuff, don't expect to be cranking out credit card receivables. Recent thread:
