Student Seeking Advice

Hey everyone,

I am currently a sophomore econ major at an Ivy with a 3.8+ GPA. Joined SEO recently and have experience at a Big 4 and search fund (mostly grunt work). Will be interning at a small PE firm and his summer with a lot of interesting projects going on.

Have been really interested in investment banking for a while and studied well, but I twiddled my thumbs and only networked at a few firms (less than 5). I ended up only getting interviews at two firms, and think I performed pretty well. The cycle is quickly passing by and I don’t know if I will be left with anything for 2025.

If so, I was wondering if it would be worth it to delay my graduation by a semester to recruit for 2026? I will be continuing to apply to boutiques and whatnot, as I’d be more than happy to just to get my foot in the door.

Any advice right now would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
