SWE at FAANG+ pivoting to finance

I'm a Computer Science and Econ student at a target school. I landed a SWE internship at a top tech company this summer but feel like I'm more passionate about investing. Would recruiting for hedge funds and PE (I'm more interested in L/S hedge funds) be out of the picture given how late it is?
