Thoughts on Careers

I’m currently at a semi-target, and I am in a portfolio management internship at a good size private equity firm this summer which I sort of stumbled into. I’m graduating this coming year, so this is technically my last internship before I graduate.

As im digesting the banking and consulting and private equity pathways, I’m wondering where to go from here? It seems a bit too late to network into a banking position, as post grad internships are very rare and unlikely, from what I’ve read (despite that this current internship is preparing me much better for that I think). However, is it impossible to network into consulting at this stage, and to do an internship after graduation with possibility of full time (or would I just go for the regular job at that point?)

More generally, though, I’m just looking for ideas. I’m extremely undecided — I just want an interesting career, good money and the ability to travel and move a lot (PE fits that criteria just because of the sheer number of doors it opens).

If you have any wild ideas for, or regrets in, your own careers that you wish you had pursued, I beg you, share them here. I’d like to think I have a strong resume (2 stem degrees, 3.5+ GPA, current PE
internship, and I will graduate in three years— very committed to this).

Any and all thoughts would be really appreciated, I am quite unsure how to tackle this.

(p.s. — posting this to the IB forum because I think it is probably the most active and most diversely viewed on this site; lmk if you think it should be elsewhere for better advice)
