Tier 2 consulting internship to IB FT?

Currently at a T10-15 MBA and am headed to a T2 consulting firm this summer.  The discussion around campus for FT recruiting has already started.  With the way the current market looks, MBB will probably be lighter than recent years.  With delayed start dates, their pipeline of candidates will remain fuller going into the end of next  year.  I don't want to spend the last days of my summer preparing for a near impossible lift if I can avoid it.

I would be very open to returning to my internship FT after next year, but have found myself wondering if I would have a shot at IB for FT as well.  I have a military background and have found that I enjoyed my finance classes. I did very well in my finance courses as well.  Do you think there is a chance of landing a position, or would it be better to not waste my time and consider other options?
