Top SSER vs LO AM Associate Program

College sophomore here

Deciding between internships offer at top Sellside research (think MS / BofA / EVR level) and top LO AM associate program (think D&C / Harris). Do not know industry coverage yet. Long term goal is LO AM analyst or MMHF in 3-5 years.

I know most LO AM program does not promote, so does it make sense to do Sellside first?

Nope definitely not. If your offer is at D&C those guys get great looks from MFPE/Tiger cubs and have fantasic MBA placement. Harris Associates is also well respected but Im not close with the ppl there but still imagine they can get great looks. You definitely have a much much better route to a good pod seat or LO after MBA with LO than SSER.
