Hi I’m a student from Toronto looking for a Freshman summer internship. Could anyone list some possible Boutique banks, or PE firms around the GTA that could start my cold email process with? Thanks

If you can’t do this you’re going to have a heck of a rough time during the job when you’re asked to research something more complex than a list of boutiques in the GTA.
I mean I already did and have somewhat of a list, I just posted this to hopefully catch some firms that I couldn’t find through the search/ LinkedIn search
What names do you have? Happy to backfill any that you might have missed
from mostly LinkedIn search of Ivey and Queens students and most are smaller PE firms

You have search funds listed on there and the majority of those companies exclusively hire from Western. Firepower and Gen Cap are done, Laurelcrest is no longer a good spot, Auxo hasn't taken interns in years, BSCI is not a good search fund.
Wow these are niche haha. I haven’t even heard of some of these…
What’s your goal? Just get some sort of buyside or sellside role for your first summer?
Few Comments:
LaurenCrest is cool - team has great experience as a group.
Pillar49 guys are super nice and smart, you won’t get paid though and I don’t know how involved their interns are. I spoke to one before and it sounds like it’s not super hands on (rightly so as it is unpaid - I believe)
Power Sustainable is a bigger fund than any on your list, but good people.

Why not look in the u.s than restrict to Toronto crappy boutiques?

I’m under the assumption that most freshman internships are unpaid or wouldn’t be able to pay enough for me to find a place to stay in the us. In toronto I’m planning to just live with my parents for the duration of the summer.
They are typically unpaid so it doesn’t really matter
