Toronto — PE to IB
Just graduated from a semi-target — currently an analyst at a PE firm that has new-grad opportunities (think CPP/OTPP). Recruited for IB SA during school but struck out (didn't understand importance of technicals, by the time I got this PE interview I was technically ready but IB interviews were over).
Is it still possible to get looks from B5 banks for FT?
So u an incoming SA at the pension fund or u working ft already and looking to lateral?
Incoming SA, but would love to know your thoughts on both situations
Usually ppl go the other way lol
Big 5 hopes to exit to CPP/OTPP so just secure a full time at either (or OMERS rotational as well) and you're fine, don't need to go through big 5.
My goal is IB for the long term — don’t see myself exiting.
Delay grad in that case. OTPP/CPP is the best non-IB internship IMO, so you'll get plenty of looks.
