Tough Interviewer

Hey guys so I recently interviewed with a boutique (solid RX group) and the interviewer asked me all sort of unusual questions. Think specific numbers regarding a RX deal. Is this normal?? I feel so frustrated and doesn't feel confident no more for my ensuing interviews. Any guidance will be appreciated....

Only advice: Man the fuck up.

You can be asked literally any question, and they’re looking for candidates that (1) know the answers (or at least try getting to them), and (2) candidates who are confident.

They need candidates who won’t fold under pressure.

You won’t correctly answer 100% of the questions interviewers throw at you, but now you are at least familiar with the depth of detail that must be known to prepare moving forward.

Use this as a learning experience and prepare your ass off to ensure that you beat out all the other candidates.

May be overkill, but pretend like every interviewer will be like this in the future. You will surely stand out.

Had an absolute LOSER from Cantor Fitzgerald interview me for a lateral position.

Asked me who was a better analyst, me or him, if he’s a 10/10 at modeling, what am I.

Ended up getting a way better offer after he denied me, just brainstorming best way to let him know he’s a tool.

I’ve also had bad experiences with them for SA interviews and networking. Was interviewed by a nepo target music major and a diversity non US citizen who spoke broken English.

Exactly. They put me through a super long case study over weekend as part of 'initial screening', and then ghosted me for 6 months after the first round interview with the MD. I also heard that their SA's hourly rate is like $20 in SF...avoid it at cost lol.
