Transaction Opinions - Houlihan Lokey
Pay, Exit Opps, Career growth? I got an offer for 2024 under Transaction Opinions at Houlihan Lokey. I was originally interested in IB, but not set on it because of the hours so I think this could be a good option for me. Lots of work on Building out the valuation, due diligence on the company, appropriate trading comps, research on industry, deep executing on the analytics. I am just wondering if I ever decide to go into IB, would I be able to? Would I be able to break into PE with this?
From what I have heard is that you can definitely lateral into IB, not sure lateraling in to IB at HL is common but other shops seems reasonable.
Did you have to take a technical assessment? I have a second round interview and it is a technical assessment for an associate for HL TO.
No, I did not. What are you working as now? I was wondering because I know its a two year analyst program and then was wondering about either rising within, moving to IB or PE?
VPs in that group make about $350K all-in. Base is around $250K. They work probably between 55-70 hours a week.
How does that compare to a VP in IB? What are exit opps?
