Transitions out of Current Internship

I'm currently interning at a Fortune 500 company, think top 50 on the list, as a Financial Reporting intern. I've been working in Financial Reporting for the past month or so and it is feeling pretty mundane. A short list of responsibilities include helping create external reports, creating financial forecasts, data analysis, and some compliance. I use a ton of excel making pivot tables and financial statements. Some times it feels like just mundane accounting work.

I don't really know what I want to do after this and I'm sure I'll get a return offer but if I can transition into a more lucrative, exciting career then I will. I'm really asking this question for some experienced professionals to give their insights on what some of these skills could transition into.
