UBS Compliance Internship or Morgan Stanley Wealth Mangagement

I have recently been offered a client service associate position with a small Morgan Stanley Wealth Management group but have also been invited on an interview with UBS for a summer compliance internship. I am still a sophomore and I would like to break into either IB or ER by next summer. Which position makes more sense to set me up for next summer. By the way, The Morgan Stanley position is actually a part time job until graduation.

Compliance has no transferable skills AT ALL. Good place to be if that is where you WANT to be, otherwise no.

Thanks for the response. Any tips on how to use the experience I gain through MS Wealth Management to obtain interest from ER or IB recruiters for a SA spot next year?

Compliance is great if you WANT to do Compliance, but if you want to break into anything other than Compliance, go with MS.

Though as a Sophomore you may gain more valuable experience depending on which area of Compliance you would be working in, which would set you up nicely for your junior year. (i.e. if you want to do IBD then IB Compliance might be valuable)
