Unpaid Internship in NYC/ based in DC

Hi everyone,

I recently got an offer from a (small) investment company based in New York City. I'm now debating whether to take it based on some reasons:

1) It is unpaid, and I am based in D.C. From this point, I do not consider to move to NYC. I am thinking to do both remote and in office work and I can commute, while I assume Summer Internship would be full-time. Find a sublease is another option. Either way would be very challenging as a graduate student.

2) I do not have any finance experience so far, and this one can get my foot in the door. I am from a policy school but specialized in project finance. However, this position has nothing to do with project finance or cover any energy. I afraid this one would not be helpful for me to target project finance banks/advisories in the future.

Any advice would be helpful!
