Untraditional background looking at finance - insight appreciated

22 and recently left a position as president and ceo of a family owned company doing $8m in sales per year in Connecticut. I started as an intern in HS and moved up by working harder than the next guy and devoting myself anyway I could. I went to college during the pandemic and dropped out first semester when I received an offer to return in management. I enrolled virtually at Penn State and have been working towards my finance degree - project finish 5/2026. I left the position because I wanted more of a challenge and to change industries. Given the untraditional route, I’m trying to figure out the best path into IB or PE/VC. My resume is strong but I don’t have the internships or connections that a typical college student would have at this point.

Is an internship still on the table or is there a position I can move into full time with the intent to exit into either industry after the degree is finished? Is my only option to finish the degree?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
