URGENT: Is It Too Late to Apply for Summer Analyst Positions in 2025?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently a junior student, graduating in December 2025, and I'm interested in applying for Summer Analyst positions at hedge funds in 2025. With it already being August, I'm wondering if it's too late to start the application process.

I have an uncle in finance who might offer some minor assistance, but I expect to go through the usual interview process and compete for positions like everyone else.

Last summer, I interned at a hedge fund, focusing on equity research, which further solidified my interest in the buyside. This summer, I've been working on my startup, which is gaining some traction. Last month, I interviewed around 100 candidates and will soon finalize a founding engineer to help develop a proof of concept.

Given my interest in buyside roles, I'm curious about how much harder it is to recruit for these positions compared to investment banking. What does the typical recruiting timeline look like for hedge funds?

Any advice or insights on the timeline, application process, or general advice about my situation would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Best regards,
Daniel
