Video Conference Interview

so I am having a video conference interview coming up. I have a few questions which I hope you guys would kindly help me sort out:

  • how do I greet my interviewer? No fake handshake obviously. but a wave saying hi? or should I stand up and run the risk of getting my head cut off i the video feed? what do I do?

  • where to look? eye-contact, I know, is important. but if I look at him i.e. the camera, I would not see him and vice versa. So where should I look at? Perhaps at the camera when I speak and half half when he speaks? what would you do?

  • any other things I should pay attention to?

Thanks a bunch guys!
