Looking at these two, I understand Wells is likely a better bank overall with a strong growth prospect, and Santander has more of an overseas focus, but is the location of charlotte vs NYC that important when selecting between the two, and am I even right in these initial thoughts?

Yeah, I think your thinking is right on. If you really want to be in NYC I don't think Santander would be a bad option. I have worked with some WF Charlotte guys and they have all been solid people to work with.
U gotta give us groups or we cant be helpful - there are a few groups in santander ib that are worth taking over WF charlotte no question asked
