Were boutique banks open on July 5th?
I'm freaking out because I'm waiting to hear from a boutique bank I interviewed with late last week. Markets were closed yesterday, the 5th. Would a boutique bank have been open? Thanks and apologies if it's a stupid question.
Not all of them specified as to what size their bank was but this may help...

Thanks, trackstar. So, it's likely most people were out of the office. Well, that makes me feel mildly better about not hearing anything today. Oh well. I interviewed with them the end of the day on Thursday last week, so I imagine it's unlikely anyone's paid much attention to deciding on me.
JD, most banks, big or small, are technically closed when the market is closed. Here is a link to a site that lists the market holidays http://www.rightline.net/calendar/market-holidays.html
This really just means support staff and Sr bankers don't have to come into work which is why you wouldn't have heard anything yesterday. But don't expect to have any of these holidays off if you get a job as an analyst at an investment bank.
Chill Out. Most people were not in yesterday and if they were, they were trying to get out of the office as fast as possible. As for Friday, people were also trying to get out of the office for the long weekend. The last thing they were doing was discussing the kid they interviewed the day before.
