Based on the most helpful WSO content, HireVue interviews are often a mix of automated AI screening and human review, depending on the company and role. For Wells Fargo (WF) Summer Analyst (SA) positions, it's likely that the initial HireVue responses are screened by AI to assess factors like communication skills, tone, and content relevance. However, strong candidates are typically reviewed by human recruiters before moving to the next stage.

Here’s what you should know about the process:

  1. Timing and Structure:

    • You usually have a set time to prepare (e.g., 30 seconds) and a limited time to respond (e.g., 1-2 minutes).
    • Questions are often behavioral or situational, such as "Tell me about a time you worked in a team" or "Why are you interested in this role?"
  2. AI Screening:

    • The AI evaluates your responses for clarity, confidence, and alignment with the job requirements.
    • It may also analyze non-verbal cues like eye contact and tone of voice.
  3. Human Review:

    • If your AI score meets the threshold, your responses are likely reviewed by a recruiter or hiring manager.
  4. Tips for Success:

    • Practice common behavioral questions and structure your answers using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
    • Ensure your environment is quiet, well-lit, and free of distractions.
    • Dress professionally and maintain good posture and eye contact with the camera.

The process is pretty sporadic tbh. Mostly everyone will get the hirevue. Some people will get it within days, sometimes it takes weeks. Same with the first interview, some people will get invited pretty quickly, sometimes it can take several weeks. The communication is also pretty bad. If you get rejected, you might not get the rejection notice for months. It's annoying but that's just the way it is.
