What do I do from here

So I applied to a position to Deutsche Bank a few weeks ago and a recruiter from the site reached out to me telling me they were going to pass along my resume to a hiring manger for review, and asked me to answer some questions regarding hybrid schedules, location, relocation preferences, compensation range, etc. Was just wondering if they asked this to everyone and if I should personally ask for the name of the hiring manager to try to network with him directly and what my next moves should be.

Also unrelated but what articles should I read outside of WSJ.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some steps you can take:

  1. Networking with the Hiring Manager:

    • It's a good idea to ask for the name of the hiring manager. This can help you network directly with them. When you reach out, make sure to:
      • Ask for an Intro: Politely request an introduction or express your interest in learning more about the role and the team.
      • Win Them Over: Ask insightful questions and sell yourself by highlighting your relevant experience and skills.
      • Follow Up: If you don't hear back, follow up in a couple of weeks. Make notes in your phone or calendar to remind yourself to follow up.
  2. Next Moves:

    • Prepare for Interviews: Study technical interview questions and be ready to discuss your experience in detail.
    • Network Heavily: Continue networking with other professionals in the industry. Use cold emails and coffee meet-ups to build connections.
    • Stay Persistent: Keep applying to other positions and networking. The more people you connect with, the higher your chances of landing a job.
  3. Articles to Read Outside of WSJ:

    • While the context doesn't specify particular articles outside of WSJ, it's generally beneficial to read industry-specific publications, financial news websites, and professional journals to stay updated on market trends and industry insights.

If you need more specific advice or have further questions, feel free to ask!
