What should I do: law grad -> finance

I’m from Canada and I recently graduated from a top UK law program; I didn’t really enjoy the academic work nor the professional work I would do during internships. I have however developed an interest in finance and during my free time would consistently find myself trying to learn technicals… though only at an introductory level they haven’t been that hard to learn as I have a background in accounting from high school. Regardless I am now a graduate and have been struggling to land a job. I have mostly been applying to mid- market IB graduate/ internship programs (mostly off-cycle) and though been able to reach later rounds of interviews haven't had any success often due to my major and lack of related internship experience. I have considered doing a masters (eg. Msc finance/ management) but have been told that it is not the most helpful thing in the world when it comes to landing a job post-grad, plus its pricey and I feel like unless I get into an elite target school it wouldn’t be much help in terms of recruiting.  I have also considered applying to some retail banking opportunities in my hometown (would rather start at a lower entry level job than wait for something to stick) and perhaps work for a couple years before trying to lateral into commercial then corporate etc or if that fails use the 2 years to get the best gmat score I can, maybe even do my CFA level 1/2 and use those to apply for an MBA at an elite target school (I understand this is costly as well but I feel like this is relatively worth it as compared to doing a mediocre masters rn) . For context I have internship experience in commercial law and in PWM. I mainly am interested in M&A at the moment but also open to other opportunities as well, either way I have a lot to learn but really need advice on what to do in terms of next steps, would appreciate any help, thanks.
