What To Do If High Finance Does Not Work Out

I have realized that I have put a lot of pressure on myself in IB/PE roles and am trying to take a step back and make a backup plan. Reality is (as everyone knows) this is highly competitive and while I have been putting in a lot of work, I want to avoid limiting myself from other options. So, with that said, if someone misses the boat for 2023 SA what would be great to do for 2023 or even FT that does not fall within this. I have an interest for company building and entrepreneurship so Business Dev sounds like an option but not sure what kind of undergraduate opportunities there are.

If you like entrepreneurship, then some of the following might interest you

- CorpDev or CorpStrat

- Innovation departments that spin companies off

- VC

- Entrepreneur in Residence programs (after you worked in VC for a while), like D10x at Citi ventures or similar

There are also more entrepreneurial "other" corporate finance jobs.

Here is another important touch point, do any of these roles also pay well? Besides VC, what are some comp figures/hours for roles outside of IB/PE
