When should I put my 2 weeks in?

This is a noob question but I'm leaving my first job out of college as I received 2 verbal offers today, and want to prepare when best to give my 2 weeks. Is it after I accept the written offer or after I complete some kind of onboarding (drug screen, background check, etc). When can I feel safe? I don't want to quit my job then something happen during the onboarding process and get screwed.

Judging from your post you know the answer. After you sign the written offer + background/drug checks clear.

Good luck!

Just had my trade dispute rejected by Schwab for a loss of 35k. This single issue alone should be a gigantic red flag to anyone who trades on their platform. If they have a system error, and you do not video record your trading (they actually said this), they will not honour their fuck up. Switching everything away from them. Fuck this company.

If you want to lean the safer route, waiting is fine, though it might cut into the notice period if there’s a predetermined start date (I ended up giving my prior firm just over a week’s notice). If timeline is not a problem and there’s no set start date yet, then definitely do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

My move prior to that, I gave notice after signing the written offer. If there’s nothing to worry about background check wise, should be good to go if it’s a decent firm.

Want to bump this up for more input. There is no drug screening and not really worried about anything from the background check. I estimated a few start/end dates on prior jobs but don't think that will get me dinged here.

I don't really feel like waiting for the background screen to clear. Should I put my 2 weeks in or is it really best to play it safe (from reading older threads seems like a lot of people are sketched and have heard of bad experiences).
