Happened few times, keep grinding sooner or later your offer will arrive

Had the best interview in my history of interviewing at a BB in the first round, and didn't get the superday. A lot of times there might be other factors at play. for all I know, the group head's buddy's son was also interviewing in the same process and he got the superday over me. Keep at it and the odds will line up in your favor pretty soon.

A lot of times if I'm with the decision maker, I ask if they are going to give me an offer. I usually receive good feedback and at times a 'yes' that it is going to come up in my email.

Happened to me so many times I have lost count.

The best advice I can give on this: put forth the best performance you can in the interview and take solace in that.

No matter how well you perform, a decision can go so many ways so it is not healthy to dwell too much on an interview once completed (unless your performance was below your standards from a self-assessment standpoint).

For an internship at a PE fund with around 20bn aum.

Got alone super well with the interviewer. Had quite a nice discussion. She was an alumni.

For the technical part, we had quite some good amount of questions / discussions and a part lbo. I was on a roll. And at the end of it she was super impressed and told me that I'm probably the best candidate technically, that she has interviewed since she started working.

Then we had a 5-10 minute discussion of the school / my student life etc..

A week later I got rejected. FML
