Which route should I do? Msf, mba, ms in management
I’m currently about to start my senior year at a Florida State university as a finance major with a 3.7 gpa. I am taking the gmat for the first time in a couple days and expecting a score around 600. (I am going to continue studying and take it at least one more time)
I have 3 options to choose from - mba at fsu - msf at fsu - msf at another school
FSU has a program that allows you take up to 9 hours of graduate classes that count towards your masters and undergraduate degrees. I am already accepted into the program and it would only require me 2 semesters after I graduate to get my mba or msf. My original plan was to get an mba at Florida state. I’ve read several threads on here about how pointless an mba is without work experience, so would it even give me an advantage? Even though the acceptance rate is declining and getting harder to get into, I feel like FSU is more known for their name as a party school than anything else. I feel a mba or msf here would not be helpful.
Recently, I have leaned towards getting an msf from another school. I’m from nashville so Vanderbilt would be ideal but I’m not sure if I can score high enough. I studied abroad one summer and would love to go back to Europe so I’ve looked at lse, lbs, imperial, esade, etc. However, I don’t want to live in europe for more than 5 years, so would my degree still be prestigious in the United States? Other schools I’m considering in the US are UT Austin, Boston college, Miami, Baruch, bu. I’ve heard the exit program at Boston college is not good and to make it anywhere in Miami I need be able to speak Spanish.
I don’t have a set plan of what I want to do when I am out, so I want a school with a good exit program.
What route do you think would be best, and of the schools I talked about (or other recommendations) , which have the best programs. Any feedback is welcome.
Ps I have also looked into the masters of accounting at Vanderbilt (for non accounting majors) that places you in a big 4 internship
