Because saying "no problem" is useless.

you may not be cut out for this life..

dude calm down 😂

I haven’t typically replied to thank you notes from kids who have called me unless they have another question. Totally fine to send another email in a few months when you have an update even if they didn’t reply to your thank you note. And I’ve just kept a personal ranking in my mind of which kids were impressive and which I probably couldn’t put in front of my boss. Just the way it is, you can tell in the first minute of the call if a kid is cracked, a chiller, or fucked.

Most Helpful

Cracked - horsepower, smart, can set and forget this kid and he’ll crank out the model overnight. UChicago and MIT undergrads, pure math / physics majors, Indians (complimentary). Don’t let him talk to the clients.

Chiller - ideal team member. Would be the personality hire but he gets shit done too. Best of both worlds. Brings beers into the office on a summer afternoon and takes all his vacation days, comes back with epic stories. Good recs for office lunches and closing dinners. Either went to a semi target with great sports or turned down better schools for a party school where he dunked on everyone and crushed recruiting.

Fucked - diversity (SEO, GWI), sons of LPs, big 4 laterals, Booth MBAs, Continental Europeans, Indians (derogatory), prestige maxxers, and IU Kelley grads.

Wondering the exact same thing, I had a Coffee chat with a VP who also ran recruitment out of my school. I honestly dont know how the call went, its kinda hard for me to decipher if a call went well or not, but usually the person reccomends me to talk to someone without me even asking. I sent a thank you note to this guy and he didnt even respond. Im wondering if he thought the call went bad and ghosted me. Most people respond to my thank you note and tell me to "feel free to ask any questions in the future or if you need anyone to talk to I reccomend you speak to X".
